NAF Multi School Student Conference

On March 8th, 2016, our Health Sciences NAF Academy of Health Sciences students joined students from the other 13 regional Western New York NAF academies at the NAF Multi School Student Conference, held at the Millennium Hotel. They participated in several breakout sessions such as social intelligence, networking, resume building and interview preparation, social media, and effective presentation skills. In addition, students had the opportunity to talk with are college recruiters as they begin their college application process.
NAF is a leader in the movement to prepare young people for college and career success. For nearly 30 years, NAF has refined a proven educational model which includes industry focused curricula and work-based learning experience. The NAF curriculum is developed by industry and educational experts and widely recognized as leading educational reform.
Health Sciences Charter School is a designated National Academy Foundation (NAF) Academy of Health Sciences. The Academy was established by NAF to address the critical achievement gap in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields and develops a pipeline of students prepared to pursue health-related degrees and professions in one of the fastest growing sectors of the economy: health sciences specialties such as biotechnology, genetics, nursing, therapeutics, and diagnostics.

In addition to the required classes, academy students combine specialized, theme-based courses with real-world experience. Students learn skills and self-confidence as they experience the connections between what they learn in school and the larger world as they transition to adult life.
