Planned Parenthood of Central and Western New York, with support from the NYS Department of Health CAPP (Comprehensive Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention) grant, is excited to be a partner with Health Sciences Charter School. We provide evidence-based, age-appropriate sex education. Our goal is to ensure access to confidential reproductive health & family planning services by providing information about contraceptive services, STI testing and treatment, assistance in navigating healthcare and insurance options, support in identifying & overcoming barriers to accessing healthcare, and development of health literacy skills. We are also happy to provide job and career services, linking many youth to peer education programs that help them prepare for careers in the health sciences, including HOPE Buffalo's PATCH Program and PPCWNY's own Teen Reality Theatre.
The Outreach and Education Specialist providing educational resources to HSCS is Christopher Culp, MM MA. He also helps support the SAGA club (Sexuality and Gender Alliance) at Health Sciences Charter School and schools around the area.
