Welcome Parents and Guardians!

We thank you for your interest in the Health Sciences Charter School!  Here are at HSCS, we believe in student excellence, innovation and accountability, college and career readiness, and health and wellness. Our goal is not only to prepare our students academically, but to develop the whole child.  Social and emotional growth, school to career preparation, college planning and leadership development are all essential components of our student support services. Our team of teachers, guidance counselors, special education teachers, literacy specialists, ELL specialists, and community partners strive every day to support our students in all aspects of their lives.

We look forward to meeting each applicant; however, there are a few guidelines to ensuring that each application is processed without delay:

 

  • All students accepted to the Health Sciences Charter School must be New York State (NYS) residents. If you are not a resident at the time of your application but you are planning on moving to NYS, please let us know when your NYS address will be official;
  • Please make sure that all contact information on the application is current and accurate. If any of your contact information should change, please let the school know;
  • All applications for the upcoming school year (received by March 30th) will be placed in the lottery. The 2018-2019 admission lottery will be held on Monday, April 2, 2018. Any new applications received for the current academic year will be processed for waitlist.

 

The Guidance Office will contact the accepted students no later than Wednesday, April 10th via phone, post, or e-mail.

All accepted students must provide Health Sciences Charter School with the following documents in order to complete the enrollment process:

 

  • Proof of Residence
  • Birth Certificate
  • Current Report Card
  • Immunization/Shot Records
  • IEP and/or 504 Plan (if applicable)

 

Failure to submit this information will result in forfeiture of your spot and we will place your student at the end of the waitlist.
