Daily Schedule & Attendance
7:30 AM: Doors open; breakfast served in the cafeteria.
8:40 AM: Classes start.
Late Arrival: Any student arriving after 8:40 AM misses instruction time and must report to the school office for a late pass (marked tardy).
Little Health Meet the Teacher Night
Date & Time: Tuesday, October 15 @ 4:30 PM
Location: School Gym
Details: We ask that at least one parent/guardian attend. A spaghetti dinner will be available. More details will follow in future newsletters.
Dismissal & Safety
Dismissal Time: 3:15 PM
Dismissal Changes: Guardians MUST notify the office by 2:00 PM for any changes.
Building Entry: NO ONE is allowed to enter the building after 2:45 PM.
Parking Lot Traffic: The parking lot is ONE WAY. Enter via Delaware Ave. and EXIT onto Linwood Ave.
Note: Delaware Ave. is reserved for BUSES ONLY.
Kindergarten Reminders
Water Bottles: Send daily (water only). These are sent home every afternoon to be washed.
Extra Clothing: Send a full change of uniform clothes (underwear, pants, socks, shirt, closed-toe shoes). In winter, boots are not allowed indoors, so extra shoes are required.
Art Smock: Send a large oversized shirt or smock for messy art projects.
Snacks: Send classroom snacks in your child's lunchbox to be placed in the snack bin. Donations of peanut-free, individually packaged snacks (e.g., Goldfish, Cheez-Its, Teddy Grahams) are greatly appreciated!
Communication Folders: Check and return daily. Notes for teachers can be placed in the folder or called into the main office.
School Uniform Guidelines
Short-Sleeve Polo (with logo): $19.00
Long-Sleeve Crew-Neck Sweatshirt (with logo): $14.00
Long-Sleeve Zip-Up Fleece Jacket: $30.00 (with logo) | $35.00 (with logo & personalization)
Pants/Bottoms: Khaki or black uniform pants (NO cargo pants). Khaki or black skirts/shorts must be no shorter than 1” above the knee and may only be worn through October 15th.
Footwear: Sneakers required throughout the day.
Health & Safety Drills
Safety Drills: Fire and lockdown drills are conducted throughout the year. Teachers are reviewing procedures with students.
Allergies & Medications: Inform the nurse of any allergies. Doctor-ordered medications must be dropped off in person by a parent to sign paperwork. Contact Tracey Frederick at tfrederick@healthsciencescharterschool.org.
Immunizations: NYS Public Health Law 2164 requires complete immunizations. The nurse will contact parents directly if records are incomplete.

Address Updates: Address changes require 2 proofs of address provided to the office and take 2–3 weeks to process.
Contacting Bus Companies: Call the bus company directly (not the school) for lost items or delayed buses. Have your student's AM/PM bus number ready.

Weather Closings & Absences
Weather Closings: The school is closed whenever "Buffalo Public Schools" closes. If closing independently, news broadcasts will announce "Health Sciences Charter School-Little Health" as closed. Automated phone calls, texts, emails, and website updates will also be issued.
Absences: Call 716-885-6111 in the morning if your student will be absent, and send a signed absentee note upon their return.
