Health Sciences Charter Virtual Town Hall Series
In response to the needs of the communities we serve, we are pleased to use our educational platform to discuss crucial topics that impact our community. As a result of COVID-19 and the social unrest around police brutality, we conducted our first meeting called, “Black Men Are Not Okay!” This discussion was intergenerational and discussed the raw emotions around the George Floyd killing and systemic racism.
Equity in Education Series
Over the next several weeks will be discussing various topics dealing with equity in education. Our first topic in this series was called, “How to Become An Antiracist Educator.” This conversation addressed racist policies that create inequalities in education. Panelists give action steps for educators at all levels to proactively address these policies by becoming antiracist in their actions.
