SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Health Sciences would like to recognize another one of our amazing seniors, Hope Laker, who always greets everyone with a smile and when asked how she is doing, her response is always "I am blessed and highly favored". Hope was a member of the Girls Basketball team and a leader amongst her peers, leading prayer before each game. Hope was one of this year's recipients of the Principal's Award and the Careers in Healthcare Scholarship. Hope has been accepted to D'Youville University, Liberty University, Hilbert College, and Nazareth College. Hope plans to become a pediatrician. Hope's favorite thing about Health Sciences is that we have "teachers who actually care and they push you to your full potential". Hope would like to "all my teachers and coaches. They have been so good and helpful to me. Mainly Mrs. Marrazzo, Ms. Osman and my coaches, Ty, Coleman and Alexis." If Hope could go back and encourage her younger self, she would say "you are smart, you just need to have confidence and faith". Hope, we are so proud of you and we cannot wait to see what happens next! Congratulations!

Happy Juneteenth from Health Sciences Charter School! Affectionately known as a Historically Black High School, today we proudly celebrate our rich history, our hard-fought freedom, and the vibrant culture that defines us. Juneteenth is a reminder of our resilience, our brilliance, and the unbreakable spirit of our community. As we continue to prepare high school students for the real world, we are also looking toward the future with great excitement. Coming Soon: Little Health – an expansion of our mission to reach children at the earliest stages of their educational journey. We are committed to impacting lives one student at a time, and this next chapter allows us to nurture greatness from the very beginning. Together, we honor the past, empower the present, and build for the future. 💚❤️🖤💛 #Juneteenth #BigHealth #LittleHealth #BlackExcellence #EducationForLiberation

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Health Sciences would like to acknowledge one of our amazing seniors, Shalea Manuel. Shalea was one of this year's recipients of the Triple A (Action, Accountability and Attitude) Award in recognition of her hardwork and her growth. Shalea was accepted into Morgan State, Jackson State, Georgia State, Norfolk State University, Buffalo State and Villa Maria College. Shalea plans to pursue a career in nursing as a Neonatal Nurse. She possesses a "passion for helping and speaking out for those who cannot speak for themselves". Shalea's favorite thing about Health Sciences is "how in tune the staff members are, they show the students lots of love and support". If Shalea could thank any staff member it would be "Ms. Maceira (Spanish teacher) for being a helping hand and shoulder to lean on when needed. I would like to thank Ms. Walls (Principal), for having open arms every time I needed someone to run to when I was having a tantrum or needed a moment. And Mr. Baxter (Head of Schools), for staying on me and nagging me to make sure I stayed out of trouble". If Shalea could go back and give her younger self advice it would be "Keep my head on a swivel and in the books. Stay out of the drama despite whatever may be going on around me". Shalea, your dedication to your academics and your growth as a young lady is remarkable. We wish you all the best. Congratulations!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Health Sciences would like to highlight one of our seniors, Armani Foster! Armani has been on the honor roll since she joined our school during her sophomore year and has always produced high quality work and has shown tremendous dedication to her studies. Armani has been accepted to Hampton University, Georgia State, Salem College, Niagara University and D'Youville University. Armani plans to become a real estate agent and run her own airbnb while attending college to become a traveling nurse. Armani's favorite thing about Health Sciences is "all of the support" students receive from the teachers and staff. Armani would like to thank our former Director of Community Engagement, Mr. Isaiah Gary. "Although he doesn't work here anymore, he provided us with lots of resources and job opportunities. He always pushed us to come to school and get our work done on time." If Armani could give her younger self any advice it would be "do your assignments on time and complete all assignments because it determines your GPA". Armani, we couldn't be more proud of the intelligent young lady you are and the powerful woman you are becoming! Congratulations!
